Thoughts For The Week.
In 1981, frustrated at the propaganda produced hourly the mainstream
media academics, I recognised the need for a magazine that could speak out on
behalf of Australian firearm owners. With Malcolm Bone as editor, my father
William (Bill) Owen thought up the name “Lock, Stock, and Barrel”, we
registered it and our battles against the Oligarchy commenced.

The magazine produced articles such as the ‘Benevolent Bureaucrat” and produced stickers, stressing, “Registration Precedes Confiscation”. We were criticized even by our own contemporaries, other Australian shooting magazines. They never recognised that we could say, what they were thinking, but were prevented from publishing. The majority of firearm owners were oblivious to what was happening to our society and even 40 years later they still believe that they live in a free country.

If the idea of a dual party dictatorship was announced in advance, it
would never happen! The people would resist, find leaders, rise up and stop it.
But, of course, the loss of personal freedom never happens in one moment of
time, but gradually, inch by inch, never moving fast enough to cause too much
opposition, taking a backward step now and then, in order to take two forward
steps later.
How do we recognise it? And what do we do about it? There is
a hundred and one symptoms, chiefly being, absence of justice for the
weak.

When one person cannot find justice, all are endangered.

When he tells you your personal liberties must be sacrificed for the
common good.
When your friends do not want to get involved in helping you because
they are scared of what is happening to you may happen to them, if he speaks
out against the wrong done to you .
When you notice the media has become the public prosecutor, in which
it stereotypes, accuses and judges those it disagrees with in its articles and
editorials and rewards those who “dob” in the relative, friend
or neighbour.
When reporters will film for two hours to find one statement they can
use to misrepresent what you know is the truth.
When untrue headlines on page one can condemn the innocents, such as
firearm owners, nation-wide, and if a miracle happens a forced apology appears
in the smallest print possible on page 93, three months later.
When your union, producer association, business association, shooting
association has set up an expensive headquarters in the capital cities, awarded
its staff large and permanent salaries, and stopped speaking for your interests.
When Trade Unions, Business Associations and Producer Organisations
have made their peace with the government in office, and push the
establishment-line.
When the perks, benefits and superannuation available for elected
representatives is more generous than those of the average voter.

Department.
When all the taxes you pay “direct, indirect and rates take more than
25 percent (in some countries it is now 50%) of the total income of the people.
When statistics become more important than human beings.
When multiculturalism is more real to politicians and statisticians
than human happiness.When young people no longer believe their country offers
them a secure, long-term future.
When the growing percentage of the population no longer care who wins
elections, believing that the process is rigged, unrepresentative and
undemocratic.
When one wage can no longer support a family and party politicians
tell wage-earners they are better off.
When crime, violence and vandalism a major signs of a hopeless and
visionless environment are increasing.
When your home is no longer your castle; when private property is
invaded; when entry without a warrant becomes a government provision.
When all forms of activity come under surveillance, regulation and
inspection by government.
When debt is the major factor in every public and private enterprise,
used as the excuse for more regulation, confiscation or fire-sale to foreign
ownership.
When men and women will hurry by injustice on their way to a Sunday
service and then bemoan the fact their faith is not taken seriously.
When the only political response to every problem is in legislation
and regulation.

When politicians see their party, and orders from the Party Whip, as
more important than their conscience or the electorate.
When a Minister will allow a great injustice to be perpetrated with
the excuse that Cabinet solidarity prevents personal commitment.
When ordinary people, seeing the corruption around them, become
corrupted themselves by their self-imposed silence and conformity.
We become aware of the tyranny when it effects our home, our place,
or the people we care about, we begins to see the sign posts when people no
longer care enough for freedom to speak out.

To sin by silence, when we should protest,

The great Russian, Solzhenitsyn, in his epic, The Gulag Archipelago,
wrote of those who languished in slave labour camps,… “at what exact
point, then, should one resist the Communists? How we burned in the prison
camps later thinking: What would things have been like if every security
operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain
whether he would return alive?” “Or, if during periods of mass arrests, people
had not merely sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of
the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood that
they had nothing to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush
of half a dozen people with axes and hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at
hand. … the organs (police) would very quickly have suffered a shortage of
officers … and, notwithstanding all of Stalin’a thirst, the accursed machine
would have ground to a halt….”
The will of the people is the only legitimate foundation of any
government, and to protect its free expression should be our first object.
Without the Freedom of speech and without the will to fight for the freedom of
others, the minority, the elitist party puppets Howards, Hawks, Turnbulls,
Shortens will be used to dominate the 2 million licenced firearm owners in
Australia and 20 million other good Australians will suffer for generations.
There is no such thing as freedom for some and not others. We have to
speak out, not for ourselves but for all Australians.
Clive Darrow said, “You can only protect your liberties in this world
by protecting the other mans freedom. You can only be free if I am free.”
When the State claims it can raise your children, run your business,
spend your money, make your decisions, run your life, and defend your family
and property better than you can and makes it a crime for you to disagree the
OLIGARCHY HAS ARRIVED!!
It will call itself by sweet-sounding names, Open Society, The Free
Society, Ethnic Pluralism, Get Up, Multiculturalism Arise .
But your own personal freedom is the price you pay……..

Maybe it is only me and a few of my friends that can see that without
a drastic change our Western society is doomed. We continually find that in
order for us to produce and work, we need to obtain permission from men who
produce nothing. We always see that money is flowing to those who deal, not in
goods, but in favours. We all know of men and women who get richer by graft and
by pull rather than by work and trade. Our current legislation is not made to
protect good people from bad, but to protect those set above us. Constantly, we
see corruption being rewarded and honesty turned into a joke.
Individual rights are not subject to a public vote; a majority has no
right to vote away the rights of a minority; the political function of rights
is precisely to protect minorities from oppression by majorities and the
smallest minority on earth is the individual.
The only proper, moral purpose of a government is to protect a
persons rights, which means: to protect him, or ensure he, or she can protect
themselves from physical violence. Government should protect his right to defend
his own life, defend his or her liberty, to defend their right to own property
and to the pursuit of their own happiness. Without the right to defend life and
property, no other rights are possible.
Men and Women have to sustain their lives by his own effort, the
person who has no right to the product of his effort has no means to sustain
their life. The people who produces while others dispose of their product, is a
slave. Think about it. This is happening every day.
Rights and Liberties are not the grants of Kings, or Parliaments,
they are eternal human rights.They stand on the principles that the meanest and
lowest of the people are by the same un alterable un defeasible, as the laws of
nature and we are entitled in the same way, as we have the right to breath air,
the right to use sunlight to see, to have food to eat, and clothes to wear all
the same rights as the Police Minister or the Prime Minister. These rights are
inherent and essential for humans to live together, they have been agreed on as
maxims and established as the Common law, even before any parliament existed in
any country. All our fore fathers fought and paid for these liberties for
ourselves today and for our children, they were paid for at a great expense as
they gave their estates, their pleasures their blood and often their lives to
win them for us.

When we campaigned, and printed and distributed thousands of stickers opposing Registration, 99% of all firearm owners believed ardently that it would never happen to them. Now, how many of them have jumped through all the hoops, paid money for licences, paid money for Permits to Acquire and then lost of their property, some of that property that had been in their families for over a 150 years? Do any of those good people who forgot to renew their licence, or left the car door un locked with a firearm, or had an argument with the wife, or lost the property that they were allowed to shoot on, or had their rifle range closed, or got sick and couldn’t manage the six shoots in a particular year, do any of these people doubt that Registration Precedes Confiscation. We all have to speak out against ‘Registration,’ or we will all eventually have all our property taken from us on a whim.

They might have spoken a different language, they may have had a
slightly different ideology but the hard faces the hardened knuckles, they all
have the power and the guns to take what they wanted. So what’s the
difference.? Oh yes, it is the gloves, they are softer these days.
Without the Right to own property we are all slaves. The government
can and does buy us and sell us at their will, our traitorous politicians work
for the United Nations not us, they impose cruel levies on our fuel and
electricity prices, they kill our businesses, they destroy our environment,
breed pests in our forests, stop fuel reduction burning and cause huge bush
fires, just to follow the strings of their puppeteers their masters. We the
people mean nothing to them, except a source of revenue. They are the flies on
our back and they do not want us to have a swatter near to our hands. Is this
their greatest fear? Are they scared of a slave revolt?
There is no Spring without Winter, without Mistakes there is no Learning. There is no Life without Death, without Doubts there is no Faith. There is no Peace without War, without Fear there is no Courage. For without Mistakes, Doubts and Fears there are no pathways to Wisdom.

Please sign the Petition which is presently in the Queensland
Parlieament, its on their page sponsered by and MP. It is for a Trial 3 year
period for licenced shooters to hunt in the Queensland Forest and Crown land.
Of course it should be for much longer, but we must begin somewhere. This is
part of the way forwards. Ron.
